Notice : To all Chartered Members of CILT India

 

Elections to the Management Committee /National Council for the two-year term April 2021- March 2023

1. Attention is invited to the following provisions of the constitution, Bye Laws, Rules and Regulation of The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport in India (CILT- India):

Rule 10  (ii). All the office bearers of the Managing Committee/National Council shall be elected for a period of two years at the Annual General Meeting. A contested election shall be decided by the secret ballot.

Rule 10  (iii). Each nomination for election to the Committee shall be signed by at least two members and shall be deposited with the Secretary General before the Annual General Meeting together with the consent in writing of the person nominated to serve in the capacity for which he is nominated.

Rule 10  (xiii). The National Chairman and Vice Chairman, Secretary General, Treasurer and other members shall be elected every two years at the Annual General Meeting from among the Chartered Members.

Rule 10  (xiv).Nomination in writing for the election of the National Chairman and Vice Chairman shall be received by the Secretary General before the Annual General Meeting. Nominations must be proposed and seconded by two members and be signed by the nominee accepting the nomination.

2. Your attention is invited that in view of the prevailing pandemic, the modified procedure for conducting election of the National Council was approved in the Annual General Meeting held on 6th February, 2021. The details of the procedure for conducting the elections are as follows:

(i)  Election to the Office bearers of National Council will commence by filing of the nomination in the prescribed Nomination Form. The Nomination Form shall be signed by at least two members (Proposer and Seconder). The person whose name is proposed for any post shall give his consent. A copy of Nomination Form is enclosed herewith. The Nomination Form shall be deposited with the Returning Officer by 1800 hours of Friday, the 12th March, 2021.

(ii)   The Nomination form, duly completed, may be sent either in soft copy through email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.or in hard copy by way of delivery of the same in person or sent by Registered Post or through Courier so as to reach the undersigned at 3, Palam Marg, 3rd Floor, Vasant Vihar, New Delhi - 110057by 1800 hours of Friday, the 12th March, 2021. Thereafter, nomination forms shall not be entertained. The deadline for submission of nomination forms is the same for soft and hard copies.

(ii)  The online voting window will be open from 0900 hours of Monday, the 22nd March, 2021 to 1800 hours of Saturday, the27thMarch, 2021. For this purpose, Ballot Papers will be sent to all the members at their email addresses registered with CILT- India. All members will print the ballot papers and indicate their preference accordingly. Further, the filled in ballot paper will need to be scanned and mailed back to the Returning Officer via email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..  Members should send the scanned ballot papers (soft copy) only via their email-ids registered with the CILT – India. It may be noted that the completed Ballot Paper (soft copy) sent from any other email address, may not be entertained. The decision of the Returning Officer on such issues shall be final and binding on all concerned.

3. For those who are not able to cast their votes through electronic method (E-mail), the option of physical voting would be available at the CILT India Headquarter at 3, Palam Marg, 3rd Floor, Vasant Vihar, New Delhi - 110057on Sunday, 28thMarch, 2021. The physical vote (hard copy) can be cast between 1000 hours to 1700 hours on 28th March, 2021. 

 

4. The following documents relating to elections are enclosed:

a) Nomination Form for nomination of a candidate for the office of Chairman/Vice-Chairman/Treasurer/ Secretary General / Member of National Council (Annexure A).

b) Schedule for elections (Annexure B).

c) Copy of the Constitution, by Laws, Rules and Regulation of the CILT- India(Annexure - C).

d) List of CMILT of CILT – India who are entitled to vote (Annexure D).

e) List of FCILT Members  CILT – India  who are entitled to vote (Annexure E). 

f) List of Members/office Bearers of the National Council of CILT – India (Annexure F).

 

5.     (a) Please note that only Life Members of CILT (Chartered Members) are eligible to contest the elections.

(b) Also, note that only CILT Chartered Members can propose or second the candidates for the elections.

(c ) A Life Member of CILT will be eligible to contest the election against one particular post only. In case nomination forms of the same member for more than one post are received, then all such nomination forms are liable to be rejected by the Returning Officer. 

(d) Each contesting Member shall submit only one valid nomination form for the post for which he intends to contest. Receipt of more than one nomination form per candidate (for same or different posts) will be liable to lead to rejection of his/her candidature by the Returning Officer.
