Course Report

A certificate course on Rail Container Logistics Management, specially designed for executives and field staff of CTOs and multi modal logistics companies, was organised under the aegis of The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport-India, from Oct 7-9, 2021. 

27 Trainese from Pipavav Rail Corporation Limited, CJ Darcel, Arya Translogistics Private Limited, and Distribution Logistics Infrastructure Pvt Limited attended this course 

The course was conducted online on the 7th and the 8th Oct. and Direct Interaction/Online (For outstation Candidates) on 9th October

7th October 

Course was Inaugurated By Course Director Mr Amitabh Chaudhari MD - India Linx and Mr Sanjiv Garg Secretary General CILT .Mr. Chaudhari shared very valuable insights of  Industry from his vast experience of 40 years working as an IRTS Officer with Indian Railways, Operations, Commercial and International Marketing Head of  CONCOR and Managing Director Of India Linx ( CTO ).   

Four   Sessions spread over the 7th and 8th Oct, dealing with multifarious aspects of the management of Container Train Operations and the Container Train Operator industry were conducted by Mr. Aseem Dar, Sr. General Manager-Operations, IndiaLinx.

Salient features of Model Concession Agreement, Historical perspective, evolution to the present state, and the trends that gave a picture into the possible future of the CTO industry are explained and discussed at length on the first day.

 

8th October 

Core Operations from the point of requirements of Indian Railways, Customs, Terminals (Hinterland and Port) and Customers (Domestic as well as International), practical challenges faced by ops exec of CTO and Profitability Drivers of CTO Industry   were explained in detail. All the participants interacted whole heartedly during the sessions of Mr Aseem Dar on both days  

Final Session on the 8th Oct was conducted by Mr. Girish Acharya, General Manager-Business Development, HPCSL. The session gave to the participants, some deep insight awareness of various aspects of exim trade, especially the documentation involved, from the commercial and customs standpoints. The participants found the session very informative and insightful.

 

9th October 

The course, which was conducted under the guidance of the course Director, Mr. Amitabha Chaudhuri with a face-to-face interaction with many of the participants. Insurance, Claims and Case study of many incidents were discussed in detail. Many questions and doubts were raised from the participants and added immense value in closing gaps in comprehension. The participants who could not be physically present logged in online.

The curtains were formally brought down by a vote of thanks to all by Mr. Sanjeev Garg, IRTS, MD PRCL.

OBJECTIVE

The Rail Container Logistics Management Program is an intensive Three-day course developed by The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, India (CILT-INDIA).

The program designed is to provide detailed exposure of activities related to Rail Container Logistics Management by the team of Logistics experts via video-conferencing mode.

 

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

The Certificate course is targeted for working executives on "Rail Container Logistics Management" and related services. It is also recommended for field level staff and executives working in multi-modal logistics companies (specifically CTOs) and others making a career change into any of above industry segments.

 

PROGRAM OUTLINE

There will be a total of 4 sessions over two days and Day 3 session will be dedicated to answering questions and filling up the gaps in understanding.

The programme will be conducted and directed by CILT India and team of Logistics experts led by Shri Amitabha Chaudhuri IRTS Rtd, CMILT, & MD of IndiaLinx.

Shri Aseem Dar, Sr. GM Operations will conduct the sessions on both days.
