The Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport (India) along with the The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Goa State Office and CII Institute of Logistics is organizing the 7th Edition of the Conference on Logistics on Friday, 13 August 2021 from 1000 Hrs. to 1600 Hrs. over Virtual Platform featuring visionaries, industry leaders and key stakeholders in various sessions.
As the Logistics Industry in India is rapidly evolving, today’s customers are constantly looking for more efficient, cost effective and customized solutions.
Goa, with its geographical location and innate advantages including connectivity and a large industrial base, is ideal to be developed into a significant Multi-modal Logistics Hub by augmenting the movement of goods by Air, Sea, River, Road and Rail.
The 7th CII Goa Conference on Logistics features visionaries, industry leaders and key stakeholders in various sessions. The sessions would deliberate on air cargo, road cargo, ocean cargo and rail cargo development to evolve an integrated logistics roadmap to make Goa a preferred logistics hub.
Session-I: Approach to becoming a preferred Regional Logistics Hub
This session will highlight ongoing developments related to logistics infrastructure in Goa, its greater role in growing domestic & international trade and inherent competitiveness.
Session-II: Logistics Ecosystem Development – Leveraging Air Cargo Competitiveness
This session will highlight discussions on Mopa v/s Dabolim Airports and whether should they both handle cargo. It will also deliberate on critical infrastructure in cargo terminal and logistics ecosystem such as additional road infrastructure, last mile connectivity and warehousing facilities to optimize logistics cost.
Session-III: Blue Economy - Finding a Competitive Advantage
This session will highlight the following key aspects on:
1) How more cargo can be handled by water to/from and within Goa
2) Whether MPT can ever expect to be a significant port for container movement
3) How a port based economic cluster could come up in Goa
Session-IV: Exploring the full potential of Multi-Modal Logistics through Rail network in Goa
This session will highlight the following key aspects on:
1) The potential for Balli ICD both for domestic and international cargo
2) The potential for moving more goods by rail on different sectors to take traffic off the roads.
