The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport India (CILT India), is the leading and independent professional body for everyone who works within Logistics, Transport & Supply Chain and is duly registered under "The Societies Registration Act" of India. CILT India provides insight into pivotal decisions and policies. Its recommendations emanate from the extensive collective knowledge and expertise of industry experts from CILT India members and focus on delivering prosperity for India.
With the announcement and implementation of “Gati Shakti Mission – A National Master Plan for Multimodal Connectivity” and “National Logistics Policy” of Govt. of India, hundreds of terminals are getting established. Keeping this developmental aspect in mind, CILT India has exclusively designed and developed this training program on Terminal Management. It is a pioneering effort from CILT India in capacity building measures.
This training program is meant for aspiring and in-service professionals to equip them with the necessary skills to leverage the current and emerging patterns. The objective of the program is to provide an excellent understanding of entire activities related to Policy, Plan & Design, Construct and Operate various types of existing & futuristic terminals in a safe & environment friendly manner for efficient handling & movement of all types of goods.
Consequent upon the successful completion of the previous four edition of this training program, the fifth edition of this program was conducted from 12 April 2025 – 01 June 2025. Classes were held in on-line mode on weekends (i.e., on every Saturday & Sunday) lasting for three to four hours on each day.
Like previous editions, the training program received a good response from the industry and a total of 36 nominations for participation has been received from 10 organizations, which also included a group of 10 international participants from Tanzania.
The training program was flagged off in a grand way through a live online inaugural session on 12 April 2025, which was attended by Sh. Shanti Narain IRTS (Rtd.), FCILT, Chairman Emeritus of CILT India and Former Member Traffic, Railway Board., Sh. N. Sivasailam IAS (Rtd.), FCILT, National Chairman of CILT India, Former Member, Karnataka State Administrative Tribunal and Former Special Secretary (Logistics), Govt. of India, Sh. Sanjiv Garg, IRTS (Rtd.), Secretary General of CILT India, Former MD – Pipavav Rail Corporation Ltd. and Former Additional Member (Railway Board), Sh. Amitabha Chaudhuri, CMILT, CEO (FTWZ), Capitaland Group, Singapore, Shri Vinod Asthana IRTS Rtd. CMILT, Vice Chairman of CILT India & Course Director, Former Managing Director, CRWC Ltd. and Dr. Veni Mathur, Vice Chairperson, CILT India & Associate Course Director.
During the course of this training program spanning over 16 days (8 Weekends), a total of 30 lecture sessions delivered by 18 eminent industry experts of the trade has been delivered covering entire aspects of terminal management. These eminent speakers also included several topmost officials of Govt. of India.
The training program also comprised evaluation of participants, wherein participants were given two assignments in addition to a “Group Project Assignment”, and based on the performance of the participants in this evaluation, the certificate issuance was further categorized into two parts:
- Certificate of Proficiency: The proficiency certificate has been awarded only to such participants, who qualified after the evaluation of their assignments, as submitted by them during this training program.
- Certificate of Participation: The participation certificate has been issued to all participants.
The award of ‘Certificate of Proficiency’ was categorized under three grades, based on the marks obtained by the respective participants post evaluation of both the assignments submitted by them, as under:
The training program concluded with a valedictory session on 01st June 2025, wherein the course Associate Director, Dr. Veni Mathur summarized the audience about the entire program. Thereafter Capt. Sandeep Mehta, CMILT, President & CEO (International), Adani Ports & SEZ Ltd. made the valedictory address.
Feedback from some of the participants were also taken wherein they found the course content and speakers beyond their expectations and thanked CILT India for conducting such an excellent training program.
